The Spring 2026 season will be remembered as one of the most successful campaigns in Cougar Soccer Club history, combining record-setting club-wide performances with memorable championship moments across multiple age groups. The club recorded 95 wins and 655 goals across 209 league matches, making Spring 2026 one of the strongest seasons.

U9 Girls Red Makes Club History

The season's biggest story came from U9 Girls Red, who delivered a truly historic achievement for the club.

The team completed an undefeated league season and captured the NCSA Girls B Flight Championship, becoming the first NCSA Girls B Flight Champions in Cougar Soccer Club history. The championship is the highest finish ever achieved by a Cougar girls team during the club's 10 seasons of girls conference competition. The team will take on a new challenge this fall, moving up to A Flight and seeking to become the first A Flight girls champion in Cougar Soccer Club history.

Girls Red finished first in the standings with a record of 6-0-1, earning 19 points while scoring 31 goals and conceding only 7.

The club extends its congratulations to the players and its sincere thanks to Coach Andrew, Coach Lizzie, and trainer Cristian for their outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment throughout the season.

U14 Boys Red Delivers a Championship for the Ages

If U9 Girls Red provided the historic moment, U14 Boys Red supplied the season's most dramatic storyline.

The team finished first in its flight with an outstanding 8-1-1 record, while scoring 29 goals and allowing just 14 across.

The road to the championship was anything but easy. Midway through the season, U14 Boys Red suffered a difficult 7-0 defeat to Hoboken United, a result that represented the team's lone loss of the spring. Many teams would have struggled to recover from such a setback. Instead, Cougar responded with determination, winning critical matches down the stretch and putting themselves in position to compete for the title.

Everything came down to the final game of the season. Facing the very same Hoboken United team that had handed them their toughest defeat, the championship was on the line. U14 Boys Red rose to the occasion, earning a 2-0 victory to secure first place and complete one of the most satisfying turnarounds of the season. The title-clinching win not only earned the flight championship but also avenged the team's only loss in emphatic fashion.

It was a fitting finish for a group that demonstrated growth, resilience, and championship character throughout the spring.

The accomplishments of U9 Girls Red and U14 Boys Red were part of a broader season of success across Cougar Soccer Club.

An All-Time Great Season

The success of Spring 2026 was not an isolated achievement.

Combined with an outstanding Fall 2025 campaign, Cougar Soccer Club compiled 202 wins, 645 points, and 1,257 goals over the past club year. The 2025-26 club year produced higher win, points, and scoring rates than any other full-year period in club history, making it arguably the most successful year Cougar Soccer Club has ever enjoyed.

The U12 Boys Red team had the strongest showing throughout the full year, winning the A flight in the fall and finishing the A Flight tied for first in the spring, but missing out on back-to-back titles on a tiebreaker.
